It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (Radiallahu`anhu) that the Prophet (Sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said: “When any one of you has finished the last tashahhud, let him seek refuge with Allah from four things and say:
“Allahumma inni a’udzu bika min ‘adzabi jahannam wa min ‘adzab il-qabri wa min fitnat il-mahyaa wa’l-mamat wa min sharri fitnat il-masih il-dajjal”
(O Allah, I seek refuge with You from the torment of Hell and from the torment of the grave and from the trials of life and death and from the evil of the trial of the Dajjal).” (Sahih Muslim, Book 004, Number 1219) - Similar narration in Sahih Bukhari, Volume 6, Book 60, Number 230
A hadith from Abu Bakar al-Siddiq (Radiallahu`anhu) that he said to the Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam): “Teach me a dua’ that I may say in my prayer.” He said: “Say:
‘Allahumma inni zalamtu nafsi zulman kathiran wa la yaghfir ul-dzunub illa anta, faghfir li maghfiratan min ‘indaka warhamni, innaka anta al-Ghafur al-Rahim’
(O Allah, indeed I have wronged myself greatly, and there is none who forgives sins besides You. So grant me forgiveness from You and have mercy on me, for you are the All-Forgiving, Most Merciful).’” (Al-Bukhari 834 and Muslim 2705) also (Bukhari Book 75, Hadith 338)

Assalamu Alaikum, one question: can we say more than both of these duas together in one prayer, or are we only allowed to say one dua per prayer
ReplyDeleteWaleykum Assalam, yes you can say more than one dua per prayer and yes, you can recite other "Allah Humma" duas as well. JazakAllah Khair.
